Introduction
This article provides a comprehensive guide on how to request and verify your withdrawal from a course in which you were previously enrolled. It outlines the necessary steps to make sure that your request is processed smoothly and that you get confirmation of your course drop.
Note: If you have not completed the registration process—meaning you were still in the process of registering for the course—your course may still be present in the Genius CE or Enterprise shopping cart.
Requesting a Drop
To initiate a course drop, click on the Request Drop tab located on the left-hand side of your screen. This tab serves as your gateway to managing course enrollments efficiently.
Withdrawing from a course in Genius CE & Enterprise involves a two-step process. The first step requires you to request a withdrawal by clicking on the Request new drop link, which can be found on the upper left-hand side of your screen. This action will prompt the system to prepare for your withdrawal request.
Upon clicking the link, a floating window will appear. This window will present you with two options concerning your drop request. The first option allows you to select the specific course you wish to drop, while the second option enables you to indicate the reason for your withdrawal. It's essential to provide a sense because it offers valuable feedback to the individuals responsible for developing and managing your courses, helping them to improve the learning experience for future students.
After submitting your withdrawal request using the form outlined above, please forward it to the person responsible for the course. This individual could be an instructor, your manager, or a System Administrator. Once you have submitted your request, you are free to leave this screen and continue with your other activities.
Has my drop been approved?
The main interface of the Request Drop screen is designed to help you check the status of any withdrawal requests you have previously made. This screen will display all the withdrawal requests you have submitted since you began your learning journey with Genius CE & Enterprise solutions. In addition to the list of your requests, it will provide the following pertinent information:
- The name of the course you'd like to drop, so you can easily identify it.
- The status of your drop request will indicate whether your course drop has been approved or is still pending.
- The reason you provided when you completed your drop request provides context for your withdrawal.
- The user who initiated your drop request. It is important to note that you may be dropped from a course by someone with the necessary permissions. If this is the case, the name of that individual will be displayed here.
- The date and time when your drop request was submitted, providing a timeline for your records.
If the status of your drop request is marked as APPROVED, then your request has been successfully processed. However, if the status indicates that it has not been approved, you have the option to edit your drop request. For instance, you can change the course you'd like to drop or adjust the reason you gave me for your request.
