Introduction
In Genius CE & Enterprise, there is a way to "press pause" on enrollments and access to courses and sections. This temporary action is known as Archiving. To Archive a Course is to change its status from Active to inactive. This action will not delete the course or section and its records but will make it so that the course can no longer be enrolled in to or accessed through Genius CE & Enterprise.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a best practice in place for users to avoid permanently deleting course records, configurations, or content. This action can be undone at any time.
To archive a course or section...
- Select the Courses drop down and click Courses.
- Pick the course to be archived.
- The status of the course reflects whether the course is currently set to "ACTIVE" or "ARCHIVED".
4. Click "Edit" and then change the status to "ARCHIVED" rather than "ACTIVE".
PLEASE NOTE: Archiving a course will not automatically archive its sections. The process to archive sections is the same, so please be sure to go in and archive any sections you wish to pause enrollments for and access to.
To search for Archived Courses in bulk...
- Select Courses
- Select Bulk Actions
- Populate your search criteria with Course Status as "Archived". You'll then see a list of all courses that have been archived.
