Just like in a classroom setting your teacher knows your name, last name and a few basic details about you as a learner, in an online or blended learning initiative, it is important for Genius to keep track of essential personal information that helps the system keep track of you as you enroll and complete your courses.
Typically, your organization will set up Genius to automatically create accounts and obtain your personal information from an existing system in your organization - for example, SAP or Oracle, amongst others.
However, Genius also makes it possible for you make changes to your personal information so that, for example, you obtain transcripts and certificated with your preferred name - instead of your formal, legal name as registered in your organization's database.

Editing your Profile Information
To edit your profile information, click on the Edit Account link on the Sidebar on the left-hand side of your screen. You will be able to make changes to basic information about yourself such as:
- your name
- your last name
- your email address
- your telephone number
Remember to click Save at the bottom of the screen to make sure that your changes are saved for future use. You will also be able to make changes to your password using this interface - more about this below.
Your organization is able to make changes to these fields, so your view of this interface may change from what we are presenting in this section.
Managing your Password
You can also make use of the same interface you can use to edit your account information to change and manage the password you use to access the solution.
Changing your Password
To make changes to your password in Genius, click on the Edit Account link on the Sidebar on the left-hand side of your screen. You will see a checkbox in the user interface titled Change my Password:
Check this box. Enter your current password in the field titled Old Password, and the password that you want to use from now on in the field titled New Password. Confirm this choice in the field titled Confirm Password. Finally, click Save to save your choice and start using your new password to sign into Genius as required.
Are you using a single account to sign into everything?
If you are using a single account to sign into multiple sites (i.e. a single username and password combination to sign into multiple systems across your organization), you are using what we know as a a single sign-on solution. If that is the case, Genius will not be able to make changes to either your username or password combination.
Your organization will typically have a specialized interface or Web site dedicated to making changes to your password across all systems if that is the case - contact your IT department to learn more about how you can make changes to your password across all systems.

Changes to your personal information in this tab will impact the issuance of transcripts, certificates and certain aspects of the user interface may also change to reflect your new choice (for example, if you selected to use a preferred name over a legal name).
