Enablement and User Creation of SFTP Servers in Enterprise+

SFTP Server Enablement

This feature will enable to the Enterprise+ clients to use SFTP Server hosted by Enterprise+. Until this release, the SFTP was only possible using external servers. To learn how to set up your SFTP integration, please see this article.

Now, the server will be hosted by Genius SIS (Enterprise+) and the users will be managed by the clients.

Requesting the Feature

Contact your Genius representative to learn how to implement this feature in your instance.

Enabling the Feature

The feature will be able to be activated just by the Genius SIS Staff, therefore, a new user type was created with the specific role (GENIUS_STAFF) will have access to a new page to have more autonomy over the features in Enterprise+.

• The ADMIN role will not be able to see this page.

The page is the Feature Flag under the Administration Tab, Staff Admin section.

To enable/disabled you just need to change the feature “SFTPHostServer” to Yes/No.

Yes: The feature will be enabled, and users with access to the SFTP Server under the administration tab will be possible to create users to access the SFTP Folder.

No: The feature will be disabled. If you are turning off the feature after created users to connect to the SFTP Folder, all users created will be deleted removing their access.

Creating SFTP Users

With this new feature enabled, (new role GENIUS_STAFF created), other users with access to the SFTP Server page on the administrator tab will now be able to access the SFTP server configurations.

Managing Users

The users that will be allowed to connect to the SFTP Server hosted by genius will be available on the SFTP Server page.

In this page, if the feature was enabled correctly, the user will see a new section called “SFTP Users”.

Creating Users

On clicking on the “Add new Users” it will open the following Modal requiring the Username.

It will create the username and set an automatically password, that should be saw in the edit modal.

Updating Users

On the edit page, the user will be able to generate a new password to the user or see the created password.
