Introduction
Genius+ developed an integration with Credly in order to generate a shareable badge that learners can see in their Enterprise+ dashboard and post to their social media accounts upon completion of a course or learning pathway.
This is a guide on how to test the Credly integration on your Genius+ instance. (You must have an account with Credly to access its features).
Steps
1. Add your organization to the system. To do that, follow the instructions below:
- Click on the Administration Tab on the left side menu.
- Scroll to Credly – Organizations.
- Add a new organization.
- Make sure you have you the information required in the image below:
- Save.
2. Enable Credly in your system:
- Click on the Administration Tab on the left side menu.
- Select Parameters.
- Find the parameter "ENABLE_CREDLY".
- Set the value on the parameter to 1.
- Save.
3. Download the badges for your institution:
- Click on the Administration Tab on the left side menu.
- Go to Recurring Jobs -> Edit Jobs
- Find the job "Credly.GetBadgeTemplates"
- Make sure it is configured for the frequency that you need.
- Click on the Play button to run the job.
4. Manage the Templates (badges):
- Click on the Administration Tab on the left side menu.
- Select Credly -> Templates.
- Select your organization.
- Click to Get Data.
- The system will find all templates available for that organization and the details for each, such as: Template ID, name, course name or Learning Path name that the templates is attached to. You can click on the Edit button to change the status.
5. Attaching a badge (template) to a Course:
- Go to the field "Credly Template" -> multi-select the badges you would like the learner to earn once the course is completed.
6. Attaching a badge (template) to a Learning Path:
- Go to the field called Credly Template Id -> multi-select the badges you would like the learner to earn once the learning path is completed.
When the learner completes the course or learning path, Credly will send an email with the badge(s). Learners can also view / access their badges via the Learner Dashboard.
7. Reports:
- There’s a menu option called Credly Badges -> Issued Badges. You can filter by the badge template name, type, issued date and status.
NOTE: If you archive a badge, it will be removed from the learner’s dashboard.
